중국 칭화대에서 고안한 건데
적당히 작은 우주 쓰레기를(대략 10cm 이하) 녹이고 갈아서 플라즈마로 만든 다음 이온 엔진처럼 배출한다는 아이디어임.
지구 저궤도에서 사용하면 공기 저항도 어느 정도 막을 수 있고 우주 쓰레기 청소도 될 듯?
생각나는 단점은 우주 쓰레기와 상대속도가 지나치게 빠르면 로켓이 파괴될 수 있고 우주 쓰레기의 양이 적다면 추력이 떨어지고 핵발전기 같은 에너지 공급원이 있어야 된다는 것 정도
